Memory 03 // Trivial Negative

Memory; "The woman is important too!" Arya learns that you have to suffer the defeat of your honor at the hands of royalty, nothing is fair. (GoT 61-63)
Gained; Day 157, Three's Fix&Create Game
Form Of; Sterling Drop Spindle, spin to receive the memory. [shareable 1/10]

What It Is; Game of Thrones, pg. 61-63
"You see Prince Joffrey?" Jon asked.

She hadn't, not at first glance, but when she looked again she found him to the back, under the shade of the high stone wall. He was surrounded by men she did not recognize, young squires in the livery of Lannister and Baratheon, strangers all. There were a few older men among them; knights, she surmised.

"Look at the arms on his surcoat," Jon suggested. Arya looked. An ornate shield had been embroidered on the prince's padded surcoat. No doubt the needlework was exquisit. The ams were divided down the middle; on one side was the crowned stag of the royal House, on the other the lion of the Lannister.

"The Lannisters are proud," Jon observed. "you'd think the royal sigil would be sufficient, but no. He makes his mother's House equal in honor to the king's."

"The woman is important too!" Arya protested.

Jon chuckled. "Perhaps you should do the same thing, little sister. Wed Tully to Stark in your arms."

"A wolf with a fish in its mouth?" It made her laugh. "That would look silly. Besides, if a girl can't fight, why should she have a coat of arms?"

Jon shrugged. "Girls get the arms but not the swords. Bastards get the swords but not the arms. I did not make the rules, little sister."

There is then a scene in which a skirmish occurs; the younger prince, Tommen, is thrown by Bran Stark into the dust. Joffrey and Robb are called up to fight, and Joffrey makes fun of the training, saying that it should be fought with real swords instead of dulled practice swords. Jon calls Joffrey "a little shit" which is entirely too funny. More name-calling is thrown around the ring, eventually Robb gets angry and curses and the Lannisters leave laughing. Robb wants to throttle them and Theon Greyjoy keeps him from doing so.
Jon watched them leave, and Arya watched Jon. His face had grown as still as the pool at the heart of the godswood. Finally he climbed down off the window. "The show is done," he said. He bent to scratch Ghost behind the ears. The white wolf rose and rubbed against him. "You had best run back to your room, little sister. Septa Mordane will surely be lurking. The longer you hide, the sterner the penance. You'll be sewing all through winter. When the spring thaw comes, they will find your body with a needle still locked tight between your frozen fingers."

Arya didn't think it was funny. "I hate needlework!" she said with passion. "It's not fair!"

"Nothing is fair," Jon said. He messed up her hair again and walked away from her, Ghost moving silently beside him. Nymeria started to follow too, then stopped and came back when she saw that Arya was not coming. Reluctantly she turned in the other direction.

It was worse than Jon had thought. It wasn't Septa Mordane waiting in her room. It was Septa Mordane and her mother.

What she Learned;
+ There are a lot of rules in her world.
+ Gosh golly she has a lot of relatives! Jon is the only one who calls her "little sister" directly, but it's implied through the mentions of Starks. At least they are related! Particularly: Robb.
+ Arya likes her brother. 0u0 Still doesn't know his name, but small details!!
+ Wow the boy in the last memory -- Joffrey -- really is a little shit. Bro is right.
+ HE IS SELFISH AND KIND OF STUCK UP?? Why does he have so many people surrounding him, can't he defend himself??
+ I am a...Stark....and also a Tully?
+ No, no, gotta be a Stark
+ The Baratheons are the Royal House, which means there were kings and queens and such which fits with the last memory.
+ Still don't like the royals very much. :|b
+ Wolves and Fish and which one are we??? Arya doesn't know.
+ Knights at home are much less charitable than Arya thought. They are nothing like stories, particularly that one with all of the burns.
+ Robb and she share the same bristly temper WOW THEY MUST BE RELATED...
+ Joffrey's little brother is named Tommen. He seems stupid.
+ Yeah no Arya's just going to go with stupid.
+ I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A WOLF......what is our family what even.
+ Arya haet needlework.
+ And apparently runs away from it a lot??
+ She has a mom. 0u0

Effects;
+ A lot of confusion on whether or not she wants to continue learning what people tried to teach her during this game about sewing!! She will probably put it off, if she goes back to it at all.
+100 BOYS ARE UNFAIR PEOPLE ARE UNFAIR THIS IS UNFAIR
+ Arya is even more insistent that she learns how to use a sword!
+ She gains like +1 family pride, mostly because her family is good people and the rest of the people in this memory are jerks.
+999999 bro feels :(
- Which means she is going to keep following around the Sterlings more insistently if that's even possible. They are now Arya's replacement family.
- She also knows her name is Stark! Which once again, she won't tell anyone unless she's prompted.
